P2P has reached more than 200 million people through campaigns run by 6,500 students from 375 universities in 75 countries.
The following universities and organizations in Afghanistan have participated in the program: Awareness for Afghanistan Organization, Jawozjan University, Balkh University, Hairatan Professional Training Center, Karwan Educational Center, Laal-u Anar Foundation, Araia University, Kandahar University, and Kawun Higher Institute of Education.
This campaign focused on spreading the values of moderation, reconciliation, tolerance, and coexistence while encouraging people to take positive stances against extremism. The team behind the campaign created a directory of statements from verses of the Quran to counter messages from extremists, and encouraged religious leaders and scholars to challenge Islamic extremism by speaking out in their communities and promoting tolerance. The strategies used to spread the group's message included live TV programs (on local, national, and international channels), radio messaging through local stations, and social media campaigns that included activities like an essay writing competition and blood donation drive.
