P2P has reached more than 200 million people through campaigns run by 6,500 students from 375 universities in 75 countries.
The following universities and organizations in Italy have participated in the program: John Cabot University, Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Università di Cagliari, Coreis Comunita Religiosa Islamica Italiana (COREIS), and University “G. d'Annuzio” of Chieti-Pescara.
This campaign told the stories of immigrants in Sardinia in an effort to combat the negative stereotypes spread by the media about immigrants living off of public welfare and not contributing to society. By allowing immigrants to share their own experiences and talk about the difficulties and challenges they face, the team behind this campaign hoped to decrease the prejudices and fears that people in Sardinia feel about the increasing number of refugees resettling on the island.
Through video and photo campaigns shared on social media, the campaign used the time out slogan (made my creating a T with two hands) to encourage people to stop for a moment, learn real facts about immigrants, and develop fully formed opinions about them.
